Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) is an indicator that the member states of EU and EFTA calculate based on a harmonized method and that allows comparing inflation internationally.

The Swiss HICP is an indicator for comparing inflation in Switzerland with that of its European neighbours.

HICP-Eurostat

The European Statistical Office Eurostat publishes every month the results of all participating countries.

The Swiss HICP is published as from 2008 according to the legislation of the EU and enhances the portfolio of economic indices available in Switzerland.

The Harmonized Indices of Consumer Prices (HICP) dedicated section provides access to a full range of HICP information. HICP regulations

The HICP legal framework comprises 18 Regulations, each of them enacted in the form of minimum standards and requiring the implementation of new mandatory measures while allowing the adoption of different solutions to harmonization problems, provided the HICPs are still comparable.
